Ancient Doors ofrece una mirada al futuro desde el pasado, fusionando tradición y modernidad a través de obras interpretadas al acordeón por Ander Tellería de dos épocas distintas: el Renacimiento español y la actualidad. En Ancient Doors el acordeón mesotónico aporta, en las obras renacentistas, una nueva perspectiva sonora inspirada en la tradición musical mientras que las obras contemporáneas muestran las técnicas compositivas más innovadoras de nuestro tiempo. Tras años de investigación, Ander Tellería ha conseguido adaptar un acordeón moderno de concierto y su interpretación a las características del Renacimiento español, abriendo al oyente nuevas vías sonoras, armonías y registros inspiradas en el pasado.
El resto de obras que integran el disco están compuestas por autores contemporáneos y muestran el tratamiento actual que se da al instrumento a través de tres autores de referencia como son Antonio Lauzurika, Agustín Charles y José María Sánchez-Verdú. Cada obra está escrita para formaciones distintas y contempla tres lenguajes y facetas muy diferentes entre sí: la delicadeza de Arquitecturas de espejos, el melodismo de Trama de aire y de sombras y la energía de Trans-it!. Ancient Doors es un disco que muestra la enorme capacidad comunicativa de Ander Tellería como intérprete en toda su dimensión y nos permite descubrir nuevas sonoridades, animando a una escucha más activa y abierta a nuevas expectativas.

Ancient Doors offers a glimpse into the future from the past, by merging tradition and modernity through the works of two different periods performed by Ander Tellería: the Spanish Renaissance and the present. In Ancient Doors the meantone accordion provides to the Renaissance works a new sound perspective, inspired in the traditional music, whereas the contemporary works show the most innovative techniques of composition of our times. After years of research, Ander Tellería has managed to adapt a modern concert accordion and its interpretation to the features of the Spanish Renaissance, opening to the listener new sound ways, harmonies and registers inspired in the past.
The rest of the works that make up the album is composed by contemporary authors and they show the current treatment to the instrument through three authors of reference: Antonio Lauzurika, Agustín Charles and José María Sánchez-Verdú. Each work is written for different formations and considers three languages and facets that are very different from one another: the delicacy of Arquitecturas de espejos, the melodicism of Trama de aire y de sombras, and the energy of Trans-it!. Ancient Doors is an album that shows the enormous capacity of communication of Ander Tellería as a performer in all his dimension and allows us to discover new sonorities, encouraging a more active listening and open to new expectations.
